Hi, I’m Michelle
I live at the foothills of the Dublin mountains with my husband Dave. When I’m not shooting I enjoy exploring the magic of nature, cooking or watching old black and white movies. Family and friends are the most important things in my life.
I’m drawn to people and the humanity in fleeting moments. I could happily sit in a café for hours watching the world go by out the window, imagining different peoples lives and getting lost in the story. For this reason, I’m drawn to street photography and I have adopted a documentary style in my wedding photography. To me, a great photograph is one that tells a story and makes you feel something.
“In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality” – Alfred Stieglitz
I began capturing weddings in 2010. Since then, my weddings have been featured in bridal magazines and wedding blogs. I’ve been honoured to receive awards over the years from the IPPA (Irish Professional Photographers Association) for my photographs.
A wedding is a very special day to capture; it’s a day when people express so much emotion. Each wedding has a story and it fills me with excitement and passion to capture that story unfolding. With care and empathy I capture the feeling of a moment, the connection, the story, the people that are there for you; your family and friends, the most important people in your life.
Teaching & Mentoring
I began speaking at photography workshops and mentoring other wedding photographers in 2018. It’s a pleasure to share my journey with others and coach some of Ireland’s very talented photographers in the wedding industry. I had the honour of winning over 40 awards from the IPPVA (Irish Professional Photographers Association) for my wedding photographs over the years. In 2017, I stopped entering the awards programme and became an official judge for the IPPVA where I now judge over 1000 wedding photographs per year!
